Our team is hiring a Technical Program Manager Lead to drive cross-team development across teams spanning the breadth of Azure Host Networking. This role has a specific focus on hardware and software networking, and you will be defining and evolving the technical foundation that will ultimately lead to new Virtual Machine and Networking offerings that will be delivered to users of the Azure cloud. It requires technical experience and depth with complex projects in the Networking space, project management across cross-functional stakeholders, as well as strategic thinking and problem solving.

This individual will be part of a team that will manage division-wide initiatives encompassing Azure Host Networking Components, optimizing for the Azure application lifecycle, availability, reliability, scale, and speeds needed for high performance Virtual Machines and class-leading Networking to drive customer growth. The role will be central to key Azure Core initiatives on customer experience and platform competitiveness, and you’ll drive some of the areas in a services platform with scale and availability targets that don’t exist in the industry today.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Be part of inclusive and diverse world-class PM team to deliver new and improve existing Azure services
  • Lead a high performing team of technical program managers
  • Hire, support and develop a team of exceptional program managers
  • Work with customers and partner teams to identify scenarios and establish priorities
  • Lead product planning areas for E2E scenarios based on customer inputs and data insights
  • Define OKRs and establish and execute on plans for improving KRs
  • Partner with the development teams on scenarios, product tradeoffs, incremental value delivery
  • Create win-win engagements with partners across Azure and Microsoft to drive customer value
  • Prepare and deliver high quality executive reviews
  • Generate energy and alignment across teams with meetings, along with clear customer and program goals
  • Present to customers and internal stakeholders; use customer and partner feedback to continuously improve the product


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams
  • 2+ years of experience working with networking protocols or related networking software implementations
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols, FPGA design and implementation
  • Deeply understand the development lifecycle, release management and have dealt with the complexities of delivering world class solutions including the quality need for Mission Critical workloads to migrate to the cloud
  • A track record of providing program management during all phases of software development from strategy to ship, demonstrating critical thinking and thought leadership
  • You are not satisfied with just delivering a program on time—you can lean into technical decisions, are discerning about product/infrastructure architecture and obsessed with quality, reliability & correctness
  • Looks around the corners to anticipate potential blockers and navigate effectively
  • Experience operating autonomously and leading large-scale effort across multiple teams and functions with stakeholders in different disciplines and across time zones
  • Drives internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions
