Microsoft Teams is the hub for team collaboration in Office 365 that integrates people, content, and tools modern workplace teams need to be more engaged and effective. Microsoft Teams regularly used by more than 250 Million Users across enterprises, educational institutions as well as first line workers.

The Client Data Layer (CDL) team is responsible for downloading, managing and storing data from various Microsoft services as well as third-party services. The CDL team runs a GraphQL server on a background thread in the webapp which is responsible for building the views required to deliver a quick and snappy UX. As a member of the team, you will not only build the core framework that is used to manage all the user's data but will also build central pieces like the message Sync engine that powers the core Teams experience including chats. This experience will help you become proficient at writing performant, scalable clients and contribute to open source projects as well.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a strong engineer- someone who brings deep technical and problem-solving skills, customer empathy and passion for getting things done. Applicants should have the understanding of how their design affects memory, performance, security, and other technical aspects of the overall application. A good understanding (strengths, common pitfalls and best practices) of TypeScript and mainstream JavaScript frameworks such as React and/or Angular is preferred.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong coding and development skills with experience in at least one of the following languages: C#, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript.
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred:

  • Experience with TypeScript and mainstream JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular/AngularJS.
  • Demonstrated passion for building great end-user experiences
