In this role as Events Marketing Manager – Data + AI applications, you will lead the engagement of business and technical decision makers and practitioners through digital and physical events. You will direct the strategy and execution for 1st party and 3rd party events with the goal of driving perception shift, creating deep customer engagements, and influencing sales pipeline. You’ll work closely with counterparts across business segments and with senior leaders to steer the event content strategy and ensure our experiences maximize impact. As the head of events strategy, you will represent the voice and thought leadership of the Data + AI team across all event experiences both internally and externally on a global scale.

The gig

We are looking for a strong marketing leader who excels at critical thinking, cross-group collaboration, and storytelling skills. This role will develop strategic experience initiatives, as well as lead a matrixed v-team to execute key events and interactive experiences. This includes managing, advancing, and expanding key relationships across teams, strategic planning, creative ideation, content creation and project management to support the brand in experiential efforts and growth initiatives.

Critical to the success of this role is deep collaboration across the organization, a can-do positive attitude, building trust, developing predictable and repeatable processes, and understanding of the power of influence across the organization in an inspirational and motivational way. You will partner cross-functionally to strategize and create integrated experiences that deepen the impact and awareness of customers and our data practitioner community. Additionally, this role identifies which events to prioritize across the spectrum of categories, ensures operational excellence, negotiates vendor contracts, manages budgets and timelines, and provides regular reporting on key KPIs to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Build content and experience strategy for the first and third-party events, ensuring it aligns to business objectives and improves impact with customers and practitioner community
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Data + AI products, go-to-market strategy, competitive landscape and ethos, to capture the pulse of the customers and user groups and reflect it in the experiences and content that we deliver
  • Take full ownership of experiences end-to-end, including overall project management and execution, goal setting, content and experience activations, identifying partners/vendors, communications, Rhythm of Business (ROB), budget management, analysis, and reporting
  • Work in collaboration with integrated marketing, event production teams, PR, Brand, Digital, Marketing and Social Media teams to align event calendars, experience parameters and brand guidelines
  • Drive innovation and proactive solutions to problems that may arise - lead and think like an entrepreneur
  • Partner with engineering, integrated marketing, sales, and events teams to understand business priorities and metrics, product innovation, logistics and operations to develop successful integrated events
  • Lead regular and high frequency content and event reviews, determine scope and timelines, and ensure resourcing and deliverable schedules are met
  • Proactively cultivate new relationships and opportunities to improve and innovate the experiences we have and expand the brand footprint in new ways

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years of experience across events and/or partner marketing and event marketing
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing large experiences for customers and communities
  • Hands-on experience rolling out with cross org strategies and building plans for implementation
  • Experience in building and leading productive cross-functional and decentralized teams
  • Experience presenting strategically and with thought leadership to senior leaders
  • Experience in creating and implementing timelines, budgets, workback schedules, and milestones
  • Project management experience
