The Global Partner Solutions team mission is to: Build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more. GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft.

We are looking for an experienced Technology strategist to work with our top Services partners in driving the Tech execution for them on Microsoft Cloud. The ideal candidate should have a fair understanding of Managed Services business and have working experience with a Channel Services partner in driving key initiatives. The ideal candidate will understand the transformation that the Channel partners are undergoing in restructuring their offerings for cloud, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity etc. and will work with them in strengthening the Microsoft partnership through strategic integration of Microsoft Cloud into their end customer offerings.

The Global Partner Technology Strategist (PTS) is at the forefront of our digital transformation efforts for our large and complex Global Services partners. The Global PTS plays a critical role in working with partners that have a worldwide distributed footprint to align their global technology roadmaps with Microsoft's technology priorities, working with them to build new solutions that enable customers in their various regional markets to realize the vision of Digital Transformation. They do so while orchestrating the strategy formulation from a global prespective and ensuring successful regional alignment and execution with both Microsoft and partner teams. The Global PTS is a credible Technical Advisor to Partners C-Suite technical and practice management executives who shares a compelling technical vision and leads partners towards committing to build new practices based on the Microsoft platform.

Responsibilities

  • Partner & Industry Insights. Synthesizes and combines business insights, from a global perspective, to conduct forecasting and develop recommendations. Understands global and regional market trends, market opportunities, and compliance by reading, attending webinars, conferences delivered by Industry thought leaders such as Gartner, Forrester, IDC.
  • Trusted Advisor. Acts as the focal voice of the partner and internal advocate globally, joining the Strategic Technology Advisory/Planning groups of partners and contributing with insights that influence the technology roadmaps and investments towards Microsoft. Builds Strong relationship with Partner Technical Leadership, creates mindshare with CTOs and act as a bridge to Engineering.
  • Strategy Formulation. Develops and lands the global technical strategy plan in alignment with global business plans, and ensures unified and successful execution of partner motions worldwide by engaging regional PTS’ and Architects, as well as other resources such as engineering; Provides analysis of worldwide partner needs in alignment with Microsoft’s technology priorities, and advises on gaps that would benefit from Microsoft solutions as part of Industry solution mapping and capacity planning; Ensures execution of global technology strategy and digital transformation, and creates mid-term and long-term technical and business roadmaps.
  • Demand Generation & Orchestration. Orchestrates internal teams to ensure sufficient technical resources for future demands. Leads cross-technology team orchestration worldwide, through the first mile, first few deals, to ensure partners are ready.
  • Differentiated Value Proposition. Partners with a line-of-business leader or senior executive within a partner organization, and from a global perspective when needed, to articulate the value of Microsoft technology/services to meet future business needs, and creates and maintains a vision with business and technology solution scenarios and services.
  • Education & Thought Leadership. Uses existing and new readiness resources and demonstrates expertise in creating global enablement plans for partners; Provides expertise and is sought out by the Microsoft community at the worldwide level. Envisions the important interdependencies of 3rd party solutions, services and equipment, as well as Partner-to-Partner (P2P) motions for better together strategies from a global perspective.
  • Ensuring Orchestrates a wide, complex range of components for projects/programs within the global partner accounts, and partners with line-of-business leaders or senior executives within the partner organization.
  • Solution Development. Proactively influences global partners to develop strategic solutions using Microsoft technologies. Oversees the successful development and landing of solutions worldwide for customer engagements.
  • Partner Enablement. Helps partners build global practices or solutions and oversees engagement of regional Technical Architects, Industry specialists and Engineering teams for the delivery of workshops, Bootcamps, and trainings necessary to build the technical skills and expertise of partners and influence through solution-sales guidance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience in technology solutions/practice development, Cloud / Infrastructure technologies required. Knowledge of Microsoft platform preferable, project management, technical Sales and technical account management.
  • Partner & Industry Insights. Deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, emerging Cloud trends aross industries and their impact on customer opportunities.
  • Trusted Advisor. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with CXOs and building cloud consumption share in Hosters or Managed services providers.
  • Strategy Formulation. Strong understanding of business strategies and outcomes that technology can support, ability to lead the adoption of technologies by plotting the strategic, long-term vision of partners, can anticipate the resolution of technical blockers that arise during strategy planning, and drives envisioning in the roadmaps around new and groundbreaking capabilities.
  • Differentiated Value Proposition. Skilled in helping large-scale, high-stakes partners meet their business goals, achieve their long-term corporate vision, and maximize commercial success. Strong Technical knowledge on one of the Microsoft Cloud Platforms (Azure, Modern Work, Security & Business Applications) and ability to articulate the value proposition of Microsoft Cloud services to partners.
  • Education & Thought Leadership. Ability to drive innovations to help partners meet capacity and capability goals, maximize reach and impact and drive long-term engagement and thought leadership, and influences large partners to see and adopt the strategic value.
  • Ensuring Experience in building new practices and solution offerings on a public cloud and value realization across a variety of solution areas; sets timelines and milestones, and track progress toward objectives. Demonstrates technical sales leadership skills to inspire and accelerate partner influenced revenue.
  • Solution Development. Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills with a problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners. Builds solutions into the partner ecosystem to enable partners to sell to end-customers.
  • Partner Enablement. Experience in offering guidance to the broader technical team to ensure that technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption are part of solution development efforts; ability to coaches the partner on building resilience to technical issues and dealing with competition.
  • Relationship Building. Proven track record of building deep technical sales relationships with CXOs and practice building executives with highly strategic partners.
  • Collaboration and Communication. Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence global, distributed and virtual teams; Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences at different levels of organizations.
  • Experience of working for a Microsoft services partner and understanding the impact of partner ecosystem for Cloud Business. Experience working with Global partners a plus

The base salary range for this role in the state of Colorado is USD 152,000 to 198,000.
