The Role at NFP

Summary: Being a Sales Executive at PPI is a unique role in the group insurance marketplace that allows the candidate to sell products and services to clients via benefits brokers, while also establishing relationships with insurance carrier partners that subsidize the cost of the services we offer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have a firm understanding of the benefits administration and product distribution/installation process in order to establish PPI as a valuable partner to benefits brokers and their clients in the 25 – 500 employee range.
  • Interact with our benefits broker partners to educate them on the value of the services we offer and leverage the fact that the cost for these services is subsidized by insurance carrier partners.
    • Conduct remote & face to face meetings to discuss what we can offer and run technology demos
    • Build relationships with benefits brokers in conjunction with carrier reps
    • Become a resource that benefits brokers look to for benefits administration & insurance product expertise
  • Prospect new benefits brokers that don’t currently utilize PPI and develop existing limited relationships
  • Collaborate with carrier/vendor reps and internal account management on targeted sales initiatives that have been developed in conjunction with specific carrier/vendor partners
  • Project manage new business installations to the point of handoff to the account manager
  • Sales/Pipeline reporting

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of benefits administration technology & group insurance industry, carrier products/services and market trends
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs
  • Manage internal team relationships effectively
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills
  • Diligent follow up skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS preferred
  • 1 - 5 years of related industry sales experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Life & Health Insurance Lic (required)
