Ground Control Business Management, a subsidiary of NFP, is seeking a Commercial Insurance Manager to work closely with the business management teams to oversee commercial insurance matters as it relates to renewals, processing changes, endorsements, cancelations, proposals etc. for high-net-worth individuals and their business interests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand client’s needs for insurance coverage and consult with managing directors to make sure clients are fully covered to limit any exposure
  • Analyze commercial line accounts and make decisions based on individual risk characteristics, exposure analysis, hazard recognition and control
  • Present new business or renewal proposals to managing directors
  • Assure policies are accurate and renewed in a timely manner
  • Gather renewal information to complete applications and related documentation for submission to appropriate insurance markets
  • Document and keep procedures on workflow for reviewing commercial insurance

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • 10+ years of insurance industry experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lead the creation of a new department for all insurance matters
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills are required to maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and others
  • Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills for both in-person and teleconference/webinar sessions
  • Self-managed and responsible for project and time management
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, PowerPoint and Word). Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications, such as online benefit enrollment programs and carrier enrollment sites
  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of commercial lines of coverage
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of risk management and loss control

Education and/or Experience:

  • 10+ years of insurance industry experience related to servicing commercial insurance accounts
  • Bachelor’s degree

The base salary range for this position is $130,000 – $170,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
