How can you Unearth the Possibilities with Nufarm?
We’re looking to engage a proactive and customer centric Key Account Manager for Turf & Ornamental. Someone who is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Sales strategy through product specific communication and cross functional work with marketing, supply chain, regulatory, operations and portfolio. Reporting to the VP of Sales Turf and Ornamental, this position has responsibility for the sales and marketing of Nufarm branded products and private label products in the Nufarm Turf & Ornamental portfolio with specific account(s).

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for all areas of sales and support to the key account in North America. The Key account manager also supports the Regional Sales Managers and their sales to other Nufarm distributors through a "what's best for Nufarm" lens, guides the sales team on interactions, programs, challenges and successes with the key account. Guide key product positioning and messaging with the local Regional Sales managers to ensure consistent delivery of our message.
  • Develop and accept responsibility for an annual Turf & Ornamental sales budget & subsequent forecast that is reasonable as set and approved by Nufarm Americas, Inc. and VP of Sales – Turf & Ornamental pertaining to the key account. This budget should contain goals that are a reasonable stretch that coincide with the currently available and projected product active ingredients available to Nufarm and reflect expected margin returns.
  • Develop with prior approval from the VP of Sales – Turf & Ornamental, a Business Objective Plan to the Turf & Ornamental Business. This document should outline a definitive approach for obtaining and surpassing goals for both professional and personal throughout Nufarm Fiscal year. Measurements of this document will be discussed and agreed upon by the Key Account Manager and the VP of Sales – Turf & Ornamental before/during/after (throughout) the fiscal year. Adhere to and exceed the Business Objectives as outlined and agreed upon by the VP of Sales – Turf & Ornamental for the Turf & Ornamental Business.
  • Develop annual strategic plan in conjunction with Key Account management for focus products to launch as new or grow over previous year. Set clear actions and metrics to measure success. Implement and track results for accountability.
  • Lead and coordinate activities of all Nufarm Regional Sales Managers' activities with the key account for consistent messaging, actions and attainment of goals.
  • Have detailed knowledge of the chain of command at the key account and lead communication with key account influencers and direct communication at regional level with Nufarm RSM's to drive sales and head off conflict.
  • Attend and participate in Industry Organizations and tradeshow events, as applicable and appropriate and pertain to, in which align with the company’s philosophies, principles, and objectives.
  • Develop and work with Nufarm Internal Groups & Departments such as Product Management, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing and Customer Service to obtain the most current and viable products to offer our customers.
  • Maintain responsibility for the forecast for the key account including private labels on a monthly basis using forecasting tools.
  • Provide assistance and coordinate a positive relationship among Internal Nufarm groups that support Turf & Ornamental and Company Objectives. Maintain this collective relationship to help mutually grow Nufarm both internally and externally.
  • Complete and timely execution of all administrative requirements set forth by Nufarm (e.g. Monthly expense reporting, weekly reports, weekly itineraries, vacation requests, check requests, terms and pricing exception requests, individual customer rebate accruals, pricing exceptions and rebate and program calculations).
  • Work within the expense and travel budget as set forth by VP of Sales – Turf & Ornamental.
  • Represent the company in a professional, positive, and ethical manner. Always present a proper conduct with a positive attitude when attending any activity on behalf of Nufarm Americas, Inc.
  • Travel will be involved in the course of duties.
  • Be able to take on other tasks throughout the fiscal year as determined by VP of Sales – Turf & Ornamental or Executive Management Team deems necessary.

What do you bring?

You’re an excellent communicator with strong technical and product knowledge who brings at least 10 years prior experience within a chemical pesticide environment or turf and ornamental sales.. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. You’re comfortable operating in an agile environment and you have an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to travel overnight 70% of the time. You’re well versed in Salesforce and you have strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills. Most importantly, you’re positive, results driven, and you thrive off being empowered to own your own outcomes.
