Based in Woodland, California, Nuseed has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician. Reporting to the Foundation Seed Manager, the Production Technician will be responsible for providing support to the Supply Chain Department with seed production and seed processing activities.

The Opportunity:

• Assist in planting cage productions, trials, and insert hybrid productions
• Participate in roguing of cages and foundation fields
• Oversee a small crew of laborers to accomplish tasks such as building small structures, harvesting crops, etc.
• Operate heavy machinery without supervision. This includes tractors, pick-ups and trailers, and fork-trucks
• Operate fork-trucks inside the warehouse: retrieve seed and deliver it to the appropriate working locations.
• Maintain equipment – keep tractor, planter and other implements or machines in working order
• Mix chemistry based on formulaic instructions given by supervisor
• Operate and work in different environments – heat, cold, dust, wind, rain, etc. due to the nature of the seed and production agriculture business
• Run specialized equipment: Seed treater, thresher, sizing/seed cleaner, air-column separator. Some equipment requires lifting bags by hand, climbing stairs, and standing for long periods of time.

We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and Fork-lift Driver Certification. Are you familiar with seed production and seed processing? Can you load commercial trucks/vans with final products (maneuver fork-truck in small space)? This role does not require a hot work permit. Are you able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during the business day? We are looking for someone that is consistent, reliable, a team player and possesses a dedication to safe working practices. Computer literacy including windows, outlook and smart devices is preferred.

Salary Range: $48,000 - $62,000 USD

Nuseed roles are incentive eligible and offer a robust benefit package that are not reflected in the noted salary range.
