Auth0 (a Product Unit of Okta) is looking for a creative and collaborative marketer and project manager to join our Self Service and Social Impact Team as a Product Marketer for Social Impact, Self Service and Startups. This is a full-time remote position based in the US, Canada or Central/South America.

The successful candidate will participate in marketing opportunities that include, but are not limited to, digital programs, 3rd party initiatives, publications, content syndication, speaking engagements, and storytelling.

This role is perfect for any candidate that loves technology and people who want a career in Technical Marketing and Product Marketing in a SaaS environment.

What you will do:

As the Product Marketing Manager for Social Impact, Self Service and Startups you will evangelize and articulate the solutions offered through using our products; as well as understanding and storytelling the journeys and accomplishments of our nonprofit, self service, and startup customers.

You will work closely with our Marketing, Sales and Engineering teams to build and share a compelling product offering to solve pain points for startups and social impact organizations, with a focus on our Self Service offer. This Product Marketer will own positioning, storytelling, messaging and sales collateral development in a jobs-to-be-done mindset. The ideal candidate for this role is a marketer that is looking to own the position and be involved in the strategy, ideation, and deployment of messaging that informs and empowers these audiences.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Teach our Nonprofit & Startup audiences about Identity, Access Management, and Cybersecurity; demonstrating how it can be valuable to them by introducing them to new concepts which can help them achieve their goals.
  • Showcase the capabilities of the Auth0 Identity and Authentication solution by developing use cases for our audiences in line with our task-oriented / jobs to be done product marketing framework.
  • Create, roll out, and maintain non-technical content such as demos, videos, workshops, tutorials, blogs, and whitepapers to connect Auth0’s CIAM capabilities to customer needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership in designing and owning our collateral to include: sales assets, campaigns, copy, briefs, presentations, slide decks, demos, etc.
  • Support the creation of thought leadership pieces to grow market credibility and support pipeline generation.
  • Create and maintain an outbound marketing calendar based on internal needs and external partnerships.
  • Support the Auth0 Product Unit in educational engagements such as with sales, at conferences, and at community and customer meetups, workshops, and webinars.
  • Be passionate about and own customer success for Nonprofits, Startups, and organizations using our Self Service offer.
  • Participate in and contribute to case studies, pre-sales questionnaires, customer follow-ups, prospect interviews, and market surveys.
  • Help drive ‘Impact Transparency’ research and promotional initiatives to celebrate the nonprofit customer
  • Support leadership in campaign and piece level metrics - increasing efficiency

This division is highly collaborative, but demands candidates who want autonomy. We are “a startup within a Unit inside of a publicly traded company” focusing on unique offers and customer audiences. We run lean and we iterate fast.

Comfort with Independence and a Sense of Ownership is integral to success in this role. Candidates must understand how to collaborate across many established teams, within their own team, and independently ideate the best team and solo projects in enablement. Creativity and resourcefulness are necessary and encouraged.

Experience and abilities you should have:

  • 1+ years of PMM experience, preferably within a cloud/security environment
  • You have experience working in highly complex companies with multiple products and teams
  • World-class writing skills across different mediums, from advertising copywriting and social media, to one-pagers and whitepapers.
  • Demonstrated experience developing thoughtful sales messaging.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with sales and marketing stakeholders.
  • You have experience launching products, developing messaging and product positioning
  • Comfort in picking up dropped balls and helping projects get to the finish line
  • You have experience with building business cases to improve the customer and user experience

We know you’ll stand out in your cover letter and resume - but here are some “great to haves” if you get stuck:

  • 1-3 years of experience in B2B and/or B2C marketing.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on technical experience deploying, configuring, or implementing enterprise software tools and products.
  • 1-3 years experience developing demos, webinars, videos, technical collateral, ROI/value oriented assessments, etc.
  • Enthusiasm in helping organizations understand and solve problems - you’re the kind of person that loves to show someone how to do something technical in a non-technical way.
  • An understanding of the unique needs of the nonprofit sector.
  • A background servicing, working in, or working with startups
  • Proficiency working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills for all levels of an organization.
  • As a startup team, a comfort learning new tools and going DIY - such as utilizing Canva or Creative Cloud to massage or complete an outstanding design task is crucial
  • Technical background or good understanding of Application Development and IT operations; familiarity with Identity and Authentication Management software, credentialing, and cybersecurity concepts a plus.
  • Experience with Software-as-a-Service offerings.
  • Project management and team building skills. Team leadership and communications abilities to engage colleagues and motivate them.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with the capacity to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications.
  • An ability to work cross-functionally while building strong internal and external relationships in a globally distributed company.
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to identify forward-thinking techniques to achieve marketing goals.
  • Able to coordinate many projects across various teams and perform in a fast-moving startup environment.
