The Project Management Lead will be responsible for assisting the Director, Project Managers in driving the overall regional business with a particular emphasis on supporting billable revenue generating activities.

This role provides for alignment with Commercial Engagement Managers in order to support pre-sales services activities that will include statement of work generation, customer presentations of services solutions, and supporting internal deal review and approval processes.

The Project Management Lead has a deep understanding of professional services methodologies, approaches, metric creation and management in order to manage complex, multi-work stream efforts, to bring functional depth as well as solid project management skills to work collaboratively with the customer resources and the Okta project team to deliver results.

Success criteria/metrics for this role will include:

  • Program/Project delivery on services engagements - Delivering to mutually agreed upon scope, schedule and financial parameters
  • Billable utilization – 30% (TBD)
  • Customer satisfaction – supporting the achievement of regions customer satisfaction goals
  • Key strategic deal and customer support for the Commercial Segment
  • Being a trusted advisor to the practice, customer, and services sales organization
  • Supporting achievement of regional revenue and utilization quarterly targets
  • Works with accounts teams and the EM’s to build relationships and provides business intelligence on client operations, and decisions
  • Providing thought leadership to enhance the quality of Okta-customer relationship
  • Managing a team of Project Managers (The Project Managers are not limited to the Commercial Segment)

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Sales and Account teams to identify/drive account growth opportunities
  • Validate PM scope and effort on new opportunities
  • Facilitate meetings/collaboration with Practices to collect feedback/acceptance on SOWs
  • Incorporate post-project lessons learned into scoping of new opportunities (this would require attendance at project closure meetings)
  • Participate in EM training and quarterly business reviews
  • Develop and enforce the use of standard SOW language regarding Program and Project Management
  • Participation in sales to delivery handoffs of engagements once booked
  • Drive forecasting accuracy for the Commercial Segment
  • Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of key strategic customers and engagements
  • Follow the project management methodology and ensure that projects adhere to the defined methodology and stage gate process
  • Drive practice evolution – methodology, templates, best practices etc. based on lessons learned from projects
  • Plan, coordinate, track and manage project(s) to successful completion
  • Assist with escalations and work with customers on resolution
  • Own the select services program and partner relationship

Requirements:

  • At least 15 years of technical project management experience preferably as a professional services manager or technical business development
  • Experience in customer-facing positions as a professional service manager or business development, preferably with a Technology or “Big 5” consulting organization
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
  • PMP certification strongly recommended
  • Up to 50% local travel maybe required
