Job Overview

For our Global Agency Approval (GAA) team for all components manufactured by TE Connectivity we are looking for a GAA Engineer to strengthen the team.

This role is the connection between our external safety agency partners like UL, CSA, VDE, TÜV and many more and the global engineering communities:

  • serving all Business Units (BU) as a central support function for Corporate-wide programs (such as Repackaging and Molders Programs),
  • supporting BU project handlers regarding safety agency processes and
  • handle complete product approval projects.

This global engineering role will be based preferably in Harrisburg, PA or Winston-Salem, NC, and reporting directly into the Global Agency Approval Leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handling / execution of approval projects at various safety agencies (e.g. UL, VDE, TÜV, etc..)
  • Discuss the needed/necessary tests with the agencies and be the contact person between the agencies and the TE engineers.
  • Support other BU's in handling their approval projects with various agencies, as well as give guidance on standard questions.
  • Support other GAA team members from the different regions in their work.
  • Handle/support the billing process for factory, annual and inspection fees.
  • Train internal colleagues on GAA process as well as standard knowledge.
  • Communicate standard requirements and regulations to the client and ensure standardization of documents and overall process.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A technical knowhow for our products is an advantage to understand the customer’s need and be able to provide adequate feedback and/or questions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good command in verbal and written English language
  • Ideal candidate is proactive, resilient, self-confident and open-minded.
  • Intercultural competence and strong problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent knowledge of reading standards and adequately interpreting them.
  • Ability to work independently and self-organized
  • Able to train people on complex topics

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Engineering or similar technical field (is an advantage)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working with standards preferred
  • Being part of a technical committee for standards preferred

Location and Travel

This position is remote based in eastern US, ideally in either central Pennsylvania or near/in Winston-Salem, NC.

Travel is 10 - 15%

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $71,800 - $90,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
