Job Overview

TE is seeking a qualified Sr. Manufacturing & Process Engineer (Hybrid). In this role, there will be a combination of 60/40 product development and production process related topics. You will be responsible for developing and evaluating sensors behavior leading to high performing Position & Speed sensors. You will also be responsible for the development of methods, equipment and tools for the entire product development cycle related to electronics and sensor calibration & test.

A Day in the Life

  • Works close with the System Architect (PE) to define new sensors specifications, drive our high-quality sensor know-how and define design verification activities.
  • Develop and release the End of Line (EOL) equipment and process based on our global standard.
  • Contribute and owns development tasks for sensor development, the development, maintenance and standardization of our sensor calibration and test (SC&T) tools, R&D Lab equipment and the release of End Of Line (EOL) equipment for the manufacturing floor in an interdisciplinary global team.
  • Bears responsibility and owns a large part of our common worldwide standards. The scope of TE standards includes mechanics, electronics, software, design rules, PFMEA, process and technology guidelines, checklist, templates, system, requirements and test management, and lesson learned.
  • You will elicit, document, evaluate and track the requirements of the entire system using the ALM tool Code beamer, including setting up the requirements management process.
  • Drive and coordinate the requirements with the software development and take over the commissioning, verification and release of the measurement system and the software for new ICs and test sequences and train product and process development engineers in their use.
  • Set-up and release SCT process and machines using, among others: MSA, process capability, ANOVA and other 6 Sigma tools.
  • Perform or support D-FMEA, Machine-, Software and P-FMEA, DoE, risk assessments, process and hazard analysis, analysis of complains and verification of corrective actions.
  • Support and document the required Work products for each development Stage (Requirements, DFMEA, BOM, DV and PV plan, etc) for Internal PLC (LEANPD), Functional Safety Developments, and specify requirements for process steps for Electronic Design and Sensor Calibration & Testing (teaching/calibration).
  • Supplier (internal or external) collaboration to execute product development, prototypes, and serial production.

What your background should look like:

  • BS in Electrical Engineer, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Equivalent
  • 5-7+ years of development of Automotive or Commercial Vehicles (ICT) electronic products through design, development, and Testing; full lifecycle development
  • DFSS Green belt (or familiar with some of the DfSS tools and methodologies, such as, DoE, Gage R&R, Cpk, MSA etc.)
  • Development of System Architectures and ability to support the entire electronics development and circuit diagrams.
  • Strong Theoretical & practical knowledge of Automotive/ICT Communication interfaces (LIN/CAN/SENT/PWM/Analog).
  • Experience with software versioning tools like: SVN or Git.
  • Experience in process driven development..
  • Experienced in transferring knowledge and coaching/training colleagues.
  • Familiar with automotive quality standards (IATF16949 and requirements (ISO-15288 Systems and software engineering - System life cycle processes / ISO-26262 functional safety management)
  • Experience with PDM software and Requirements Capture (Share point, Evault, CODEBEAMER etc.)
  • PCB design and testing development experience (Plus)
  • FuSa Certified Engineer (Plus)
  • DFSS GB or BB Certified (Plus)
  • Experience in ASIC development and product integration
