Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.

Short Description

The TEOA (TE Operations Advantage) Manager will be responsible for leading and guiding the Operational Excellence Strategic Plan for the Lickdale Facility in the Appliance Business Unit. The position is on-site and located in Jonestown, PA.
She/he will apply the lean knowledge in all operations areas, such as production, quality, material, maintenance, environment, safety, purchasing and others to address improvements in the service model and productivity, implement TE-Best processes and work closely with TE Center of Excellence.
This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Director of Operations at Lickdale.

Strategy and Execution:

  • Development of site strategic TEOA deployment plan aligned to Plant and Business Unit strategy.
  • Lead the Operations transformation at site, including a holistic training concept from foundation to lean experts and on-site project of Operations transformation.
  • Convert the TEOA concepts and principles into process and organizational changes needed to support operational objectives and lever continuous improvement.
  • Define the future state on key TEOA metrics at site and elaborate a roadmap towards that target aligned with the plant manager. Create, plan, lead and follow-up of the TEOA implementation plan and ensure TEOA actions are visual to stakeholders and are driven to a sustainable closure.
  • Accountability and responsibility for predicted savings and track, validate and post the financial operating results in alignment with the corporate standard and timescale.
  • Usage of TE Best tools and Center of Excellence to drive conversion productivity projects and track conversion cost performance at site.
  • Pro-active involvement in best practice sharing across the Business Unit Sites, cascading down to all Practitioners and site leadership and vice versa ensure that best practices from the different locations and departments are fed back to the TEOA organization for further proliferation
  • Foster the adoption of Operational Excellence as a way of how we life and operate at TE; creating and promoting culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identification and organization of resources required to achieve successful implementation in accordance with plan.
  • Facilitate TEOA Kaizen events and Workshops at site.


Talent:

  • Support and mentor site based TEOA Practitioners / Kaizen Facilitators / to enable them to succeed in the TEOA deployment.
  • Develop skill levels of practitioners and other site personnel to implement and sustain TEOA. Certify Kaizen Facilitators and TEOA Practitioners to a standard where they can effectively deploy and train others in all of the TEOA methods & tools.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the BU Operational Excellence team to ensure all training materials are used in a consistent way while ensuring site receives sufficient support and allocation of time.
  • Work with internal resources to define training curricula and execute training plans.

What your background should look like:

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with focus on production, logistics or industrial engineering with economical knowledge.
  • 5+ years of experience as Operational Excellence (Lean) leading and transforming operations at multiple sites or value stream level and demonstrated evidence of sustained, successful lean activities is essential.
  • Working knowledge of the manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, plating, compound/extrusion/finishing, and/or assembly is a plus
  • Lean Master / Black Belt certification is preferred
  • Strong Change Agent with excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results
  • Analytically, data-driven and problem-solving mindset.
