Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans in order to meet sales and profit targets.

Overview

Performance Materials, the emerging BU of TE Connectivity has a great opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Product Management role, based in U.S. (or Germany). This Sr. Product Manager will take full responsibility of Heat Shrink Tubing products, which is the core business of Performance Materials. He/She will act as a “mini” GM, lead global HST PM team to develop product strategies and roadmaps to maximize market potential, define business focus & priority, drive implementation, own results to achieve revenue and gross margin targets.

  • This role will interact and collaborate extensively with global cross-functional teams in engineering, sales across BUs, marketing, manufacturing, as well as the global supply chain, to drive key decisions and successful execution which will directly impact the competitiveness and success of the Product Lines.
  • This role requires strong strategic thinking, full ownership, and good people management skill to leading a globalized team.

Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Develop product and market strategy based on in-depth understanding of market potential, industry trends, drivers, and competitive landscape
  • Drive and guide market mapping exercises with cross BU sales and customers to maximize market potential in respective industries
  • Prioritize and define strategic focus, set priorities with clear plan and goals to guide strategy implementation with cross functional teams
  • Develop market-driven product roadmap that aligns with strategy to drive incremental growth
  • Identify product sustaining opportunities to optimize cost and product competitiveness
  • Develop product pricing strategy based on value propositions by positioning internally in overall portfolio, externally with the competition.

Implementation & Collaboration:

  • Communicate strategy with cross functional teams, align on the priorities and resources to ensure strategy implementation across the organization
  • Define business, technology, and operations goals in line with product financial target, build consensus on key strategic initiatives
  • Gate keeping and prioritize NPI and Sustaining pipeline to align with strategy and product roadmap. Monitor and drive pipeline optimization and resource efficiency to maximize business return with the given resources
  • Act as the opportunity champion and main point of contact with customers on NPI/PAC projects. Steer project direction to ensure key deliverables of performance, financial, and timeline objectives are met, evaluate results and effectiveness on key performance metrics.
  • Develop the annual business plan with financial targets, mange the P&L, provides reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Provide PM input to demand forecast for capacity plan in long-term, and S&OP in short-term. Provide commercial insights and guidance to supply allocation when supply constrain.
  • Guide and plan product launches, including the development of marketing and sales plans
  • Define approval principle for special pricing requests, gate keeping and monitor pricing strategy execution.

What your background should look like:

Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of product management, marketing, or other relevant experience
  • Relevant product or industry experience desired, incl. Automotive, AD&M, Industrial, D&D, Chemical & Materials, etc.
  • Strategic thinking with strong Product Management skillsets, advanced degree (MBA) or relevant P&L management experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to understand technical & application complex concepts
  • Proven ability to multi-task and drive results in a dynamic, high paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Experienced leader with an ability to influence cross functional teams and to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • People management experience of leading a multinational team
  • Advanced presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to foster understanding and acknowledgement of critical information both up and down the organization.
  • Experience of supply chain or S&OP management experience will be a favored plus.
  • This role requires strong strategic thinking, full ownership, and good people management skill to leading a globalized team.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $133,300 – $166,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
