The SAP Change & Release Management Lead role is critical part of GAS team and will be responsible for leading the Change and Release Management process activities across various IT functions within the organization. This role will interact with multiple stakeholders across the organization and will be instrumental in furthering the team’s mission.


Reporting directly to GAS Director Software QA & Test Mgt, this role will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and operationalizing the process for SAP Change and Release Management.
1. Lead the Change and Release Management process activities across various IT functions within the organization
2. Works closely with change managers, the program management office, project managers and the change advisory board to plan releases and collaborates on the release schedule, taking into consideration associated business and technical risks.
3. Reviews change requests for completeness and accuracy with appropriate IT groups, confirms all discrepancies and dependencies are resolved.
4. Participates in meetings to approve and reject changes.
5. Coordinates between internal requestors and the production team to schedule production release updates and upgrades.
6. Confirms release plan covers integration testing, user acceptance testing, documentation and associated operational procedures, such as system management instrumentation, support procedures, run book procedures, service catalog, configuration management database (CMDB) and rollback planning.
7. Conducts formal release readiness reviews and go/no-go decisions.
8. Advises production and software development teams to resolve system and operational issues.
9. Ensure the production environment is protected by a rigorous Change and Release Management process.
10. Ensure standardized process and procedures are used for efficient handling of changes to minimize incidents due to change
11. Chair the divisional and cross-divisional Change Advisory Boards. Circulate in-scope Requests for Change (RFCs/CMs) to CAB members in advance of meeting to allow prior consideration/review.
12. Maintain the IT Change Calendar that comprises of forward schedule of all changes
13. Manage, coordinate, monitor, and report on change activities

Basic Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years in IT working as a project manager or in a strategic transformation role
  • 3 - 5 years in Change and Release Management acting as a lead or manager in an operations centric environment. Preferably in an organization developing enterprise applications.
