Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Maintenance Teams perform repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure longer lifespan of machines and facilities. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures. The maintenance mechanic diagnoses and repairs machine breakdowns and may rebuild machines as required. The candidate must be proficient in repair of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems required to run plant machinery and facility. This role may also perform preventive maintenance as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots mechanical and/or electrical breakdowns of machinery.
  • Replaces parts (ex. Motors, drives) as required.
  • Completes all work orders, preventive maintenance sheets, and repair logs to reflect work performed.
  • Follows all safety guidelines in working on machinery or in facilities (ex. Lock out/tag out)
  • General housekeeping of work area
  • Other maintenance and/or facilities projects as assigned

What your background should look like:

  • AAS in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical or Industrial Technology plus 2+ years experience in electronics or mechanical field or 5+ years experience in manufacturing in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical repair, motor controls in plant environment
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic blueprint reading skills required; experience reading blueprints from non-U.S. manufacturers preferred
  • Experience using micrometers, gauges, rulers (metric and standard)
  • PLC Programming experience preferred
  • Math skills (electrical wiring work requires use of decimals, percentages)
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to prioritize work in order to successfully accomplish job duties
  • Must be proficient in the English language
