Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

TE-Automotive’ s Advanced Manufacturing and Process Development Group (AMPD) has an immediate need for a full-time Staff Manufacturing Engineer with experience in the field of automated, semi-automated, and manual work-cell design and project execution.
This individual will work closely with our on-site and regional electrical/controls engineers and technicians during conceptualization, design, construction, and commissioning phases of multi-module automated manufacturing machines designed for automotive product portfolios comprised of HEMS, Terminals and Connectors, Mechatronics, and Sensors. We are a driven group of engineers and technicians chartered to innovate and develop the next generations of world-class, TE-Best processes for our automotive manufacturing sites globally.

Summary of Duties

  • Designs, develops, and integrates various manufacturing tooling solutions and systems for the production of high-quality, economically competitive products
  • Provide input to Product Engineers during Design for Manufacturability Reviews to ensure optimized product and process design for quality
  • Develop procedures for TPM of equipment or processes in the plant
  • Benchmarks best in class processes from other regions to innovate newer manufacturing methods or procedures for optimized processes.
  • Lead process development projects in the design, build, conditioning and installation of complex assembly processes to meet specific product and quality requirements.
  • Analyzes and plans workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency and ergonomics
  • Researches automation or process assembly techniques, testing new systems or process elements for efficiency and optimized production
  • Manage projects awarded to outside equipment & tooling suppliers to ensure specification/requirements/timelines are met.
  • Provide Technical support for start-up and sustaining engineering in the factory

What your background should look like:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering with 5-7+ years of experience in development of automated manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Proficient in CAD design with PTC Creo or any other software
  • Good computer skills a must (MS Office Suite, Office 360, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Automotive or Industrial experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel nationally and internationally 10% - 15% per year.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a valid Passport
  • Good English communication (written and oral)

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $105,200 – $157,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
