Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Database Administration Teams implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases. They conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general, review database design and integration of systems, develop stored procedures and/or triggers, provide backup recovery and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. TE’s Database Administration Teams also maintain security and integrity controls, by formulating policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Global Database Manager, this role will be responsible for our general database environment.
  • Planning, executing installs/upgrades/patching.
  • Work closely with the Project Managers, Process Leads, and other stakeholders to ensure business requirements have been met.
  • Maintain DB stability: backups/restores; monitor disk allocations; troubleshoot performance issues; reorg tables/indexes; parameter changes; monitor overall utilization.
  • Plan DB changes within the framework of the Service Now change management procedures. Ensure audit information is collected as needed for change tickets.
  • Define and collect audit information for the review by Internal and external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain Knowledge articles for standard work.
  • Be very familiar with MS SQL and MYSQL, including Oracle and OEM.
  • Be willing to learn and support our Oracle/ environment on premise and in the AWS cloud.

Skills Required

  • The Database Admin will be able to work effectively with individual team members as well as executive management. From a personal standpoint the successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced complex environment. Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent degree preferred Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Be conceptual and strategic. Take responsibility in seeing that the work gets done and be involved in the details of the business and making things happen

What your background should look like:

Experience / Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates must have completed minimum three Oracle upgrades
  • People management and leadership skills, including coaching, supervision
  • Proactive, Delivery Focused, and Resilient
  • Deep Knowledge of database technologies and practices
  • Knowledge of database trends and tools
  • 10+ years in IT working as a DBA or in a strategic role
  • 8+ years as a MS SQL and MY SQL with experience as a lead DBA, preferably in an organization supporting enterprise applications.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Experience with databases including Oracle, SQL Server
  • Progress, Postgres, MySQL experience is a plus
  • Understanding of and experience successfully working with databases in a complex environment.
  • Read and update embedded SQL in C for Oracle.
  • Ability to work across an organization, share success, and build a culture that embraces change and growth.
  • Configure/Upgrade Oracle OEM 13c
  • Manage and upgrade/patch LDAP, OID

Compensation
Competitive pay commensurate with experience: $111,000 -
$166,000 salary (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
