Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer serves on a project-based team focused solely on driving hard financial savings through business and process improvements. This individual will work with a cross-functional team to effectively identify, quantify and execute projects, while providing data-based engineering solutions to complex technical and business challenges. This role directly supports building and executing a pipeline of projects to reduce costs 4%, year-over-year. All work will be performed within TE’s SOPs in an ISO 13485 and/or 21 CFR Part 820 environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identify cost savings opportunities across a variety of value streams and present in terms of ROI to build a pipeline of project opportunities
  • Execute, support and manage multiple cost-savings projects simultaneously
  • Own projects from ideation through implementation and confirmation that changes are effective
  • Create and document best-practices as standard work to promote a cycle of continuous learning and development throughout the organization
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to process operational or technical data and translate the output into a business result or opportunity
  • Drive projects and initiatives with strong project management skills and a sense of urgency while, balancing the needs of the business.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to cross-functional teams and translate user requirements and process changes into a financial analysis
  • Draft, and execute change control orders, supplier change requests and all supporting documentation

What your background should look like:

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Sciences or Physical Sciences
  • Advanced problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to translate objectives (“generate cost savings”) into actionable results, execute them and support this with data (DOE, engineering studies, process validation)
  • Positive, adaptable attitude that thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and negotiate alignment with stakeholders
  • Proven success working with cross-functional groups (Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Commercial)
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal communication
  • Demonstrated success identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement across a range of process and/or functions
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Excel, Minitab, PowerBI, etc.)
