Join us and hear from Peter Bennett and Tania Cecconi as they jump into a conversation on how being an advocate for change can help influence positive transformations that help create conditions and foster cultures that enable women to thrive in the workplace.

During this session, you will discover:

  • The business case for gender equity, and the need to offer clients the best solution to their problems, including how this is incorporated into Clough’s business planning and strategy process
  • How diversity is critical to Clough’s future success
  • Peter’s personal journey to becoming an advocate and why diversity and inclusion are top of mind at Clough
  • How every employee is held accountable for ensuring diversity and inclusion principles are reflected in their everyday attitudes and behaviours

The session will start off with a presentation and talk from Peter and Tania, followed by Q&A.

Meet the speakers

Peter Bennett

Chief Executive Officer, Clough

Peter has over 30 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure contracting service sector. His experience spans contracting business process, operational, and corporate leadership. He has been instrumental in the diversification of Clough as a respected engineering and construction business serving the energy, infrastructure and resources industry in Australia Asia Pacific and North America.

He commenced his career as a graduate mechanical engineer with CB&I in Australia. During his 26-year tenure, Peter progressed through a diverse range of roles including engineering, project management, business development, operations management, corporate function management and general management. Prior to joining Clough, he was President, Oil & Gas International for CB&I, based in The Hague.

Peter is a director of Murray & Roberts Limited, a board member of Australian Construction Association (ACA), The Clough Foundation and Chair for CEO for Gender Equity.

He is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion and is an avid advocate of its importance. Peter also acts as mentor of numerous young professionals and people across the industry.

Tania Cecconi

Program Director, Champions of Change Coalition

Tania is the Program Director for the Champions of Change Coalition, having previously been the Executive Officer for CEO’s for Gender Equity. In her current role, she facilitates listening, learning, and leading on the attraction, retention, and promotion of women with resources and construction members, a new national group established in 2021.

Her experience as an executive in the public sector allows her to articulate the vision for equality, translating this into specific, measurable objectives supported by clear action plans. She is committed to leading transformation and creating a long-term impact.
