TheDirector, Internal Communications and Engagement,works closely withExpedia Group’s global finance organizationin identifying communications strategy anddevelopment of materials for 1,000+ finance employees.Theperson in this role willwork closely with the CFO and Finance Leadership Team tobuild comprehensive strategies that turn complex information into streamlined, clear, credible content that influencesemployeesentiment and behavior.As someone withstrong business acumen andunderstanding offinancial concepts, this person will partner with the global finance leadership team and the corporate communicationsteam to enhance and amplify Expedia Group’s business narrative. This person will maintain impactful workingpartnershipswithInvestor Relations, Risk Management, Government Affairs and Legal.
What You Will Do:
Lead the end-to-end development of employee-focusedcommunicationsstrategy for the global finance organization, and implement this strategy to create content that attracts, engages, informs and delights employees – in a range of formats (e.g.written, experiential, digital) and channels (e.g.intranet, email, chat)
Inspire and gain commitment of others towards the Finance vision and organizational goals
Developcommunications solutions and tactics and conduct broad analysis (e.g., pros/cons, cost/benefit, risks, resources, timing) to determine the viability of various alternatives
Provide executive communications support to the CFO,helping the Finance Leadership Team to successfully navigate through critical business changes,such asquarterly earningsor mergers and acquisitions
Develop relationships with partners across Expedia Group, including senior leaders, and work closely with them to develop internal communications campaigns that bring the Expedia Group narrative to life with their teams
Oversee and contribute toorganizational communications channels such as Slack, Basecamp and Town Halls
Develop internal storiesthat increase Expedia Group employees’ business acumen and understanding of the company’s performance
Develop methods to collect Employee Communications and Engagement metrics, sharing results with relevant team members to acknowledge progress,inform decision-making, andoptimize forefficiency
Participate actively in the wider Expedia Group communications community;develop, share,andshapestandard methodologies for employee communications, leading by example and proactively seeking opportunities to align
Who you are:
Ability toprioritize multiple project plans, overlapping projects, and to help the team organize themselves to do so as well
Communications experience infinancesector,with a keen understanding ofInvestor Relations and Media Relations
Experience working on corporate communications for a large consumer brand or technology company, or communications agency experience
Curious, forward-thinking and driven puzzle solver who thrives on collaboration, vision-setting, clarity of purpose, authenticity and positivity
Excellence incommunications writing, planning, andoral communication skills including the ability to represent Expedia Group’s business at the highest levelsof leadership and in a variety of settings and audiences
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; exceptional PowerPoint and visualization skills used to convey compelling and easy to understand messages
Comfortable withcomplex business topicsand tight deadlines
Passion for building process and structure to optimize execution of day-to-day work and scheduled tasks
Outstanding project management and social skills, particularly with demonstrated experience in highly matrixed organizations
Ability to synthesize data into logical conclusions and recommendations
