We're looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to be part of our Group Conduct Investigations (GCI) team. Group Conduct Investigations is the centre of excellence for investigations into Speak Up (Whistleblowing) and performance investigations following risk events. The Investigation team consists of skilled Investigators, who work together to deliver high quality investigations which reach fair and objective outcomes, and are robustly conducted and scrupulously documented to ensure they withstand challenge or complaint. Our effective response to Speak Up Reports is essential to ensuring both that colleagues feel confident that they are listened to, and that the Group can feel confident that wrongdoing is identified and addressed effectively, and the Investigator plays a key role in making this happen.
The Quality Control Senior Manager is responsible for the peer review and quality control of investigations, utilising their technical expertise, critical mind-set and professional judgement to ensure robust and high quality case investigations. The Quality Control team is part of the wider Group Conduct Investigations (“GCI”) team which undertakes independent Speak Up, Conduct and Performance Adjustment investigations relating to Speak Up reports and Divisional Events.
What you'll be doing...
- Facilitate peer review and quality control for investigations in line with Group and GCI culture, documented procedures, by overseeing and applying the appropriate critical thinking, judgement, and technical competence to ensure a robust investigation is conducted.
- Review the quality of the work produced by Investigators on their cases and ensures a critical mind-set has been applied.
- Responsible for monitoring quality of triage, case management & investigations, tracking remedial actions, and advising the GCID and other senior leads on thematic quality issues, required process enhancements and areas to improve consistency and capability.
- Document quality control findings and ensures any thematic findings (both learnings and best practice) are communicated to the investigations team.
- Check the quality of the case material storage and MI, as well as overall risk hygiene factors.
- Support with coaching and development of investigation officers who have their cases reviewed and ensure they understand their responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Maintain understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Group operates and interpret and apply changes in that regulatory environment to their own role and others.
- Support with communication and engagement of stakeholders across the wider group throughout the case investigation life cycle. In particular collaborates with the Quality Assurance team and CCOR team to ensure each of the three reviews are complimentary and non-duplicative, and to share thematic information to support continual improvement.
- Maintains appropriate controls and documentation for the relevant GCI quality risk controls, providing this information on a regular basis to SRS colleagues.
- Demonstrate core LBG values and behaviours as an active team member to support a high performing team.
- As a member of the GCI Senior Leadership Team, inputs and leads on strategic areas for GCI.
- Understand the appropriate evidence gathering and analysis techniques and tools relevant to the allegation and evidence at hand, including knowing when and how to utilise eDiscovery solutions and advanced data analytics techniques to evaluate evidence.
- Carefully identifies and manages conflicts of interest relating to investigations.
- Protects the identity of Speak Up Reporters throughout and after investigations.
- Tracking and monitoring of appropriate quality KPIs. Using the KPIs to develop and provide material and information for governance reports, contributing to the facts and circumstances investigated.
- Maintain storage of case materials, MI and appropriate evidence handling requirements, as well as overall risk management for their investigations.
- Maintain their own development and competency against the appropriate Training & Competency scheme.
- Continual improvement of the quality control process to ensure it reflects the current ways of working, is seen as a ‘best practice’ support function, and is efficient and effective as possible (e.g. using a risk based approach and using technology and automation).
