Storewrights Warehouse Operative

Would you like to play a key role in the delivery of coordinating and moving resources across our logistics facility? We currently have a vacancy for a Storewrights Warehouse Operative, at our site in Portsmouth.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be working within a small team in a constantly changing environment where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for supporting customer requirements, ensuring they are always met in a timely fashion, while always ensuring all tools and equipment that are used are suitable, fit for purpose and in date for any inspection required.

Within this role you will support the warehouse management and complete the required tasks to ensure the efficient running of the Storewrights workshop and a high level of service to our customers is maintained.

This role will provide you with great opportunities to interact and gain further exposure with all areas of the base and progression within the logistics department.

Your main responsibilities as a Storewrights Warehouse Operative will involve:

• Be trade (bench joinery) competent

• Attend all training courses, Tool Box Talks and briefings where possible.

• Carry out planned and reactive works as required.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, managing their expectations and needs.

• Complete works as detailed by Team Leader

• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses via the appropriate reporting tool.

• Interface with other teams/organisations to provide a seamless service.

• Ensure good housekeeping and 5’S are adhered to.

• Participate in the update of the warehousing infrastructure and processes as required by the business

Your skills and qualifications:

• Have completed an appropriate trade apprenticeship, naval equivalent qualifications or qualification (NVQ in Bench Joinery or Carpentry).

• Experience in Bench Joinery

• Experience with Machinery and Tools

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Have the ability to work within a small team, able to be adaptable and flexible with the ever changing nature from the customer.
