About The Role
As our Mobile Plant Fitter, you’ll help keep our mobile plant equipment safe, reliable and ready to support our recycling operation in Telford.
A big part of the role will involve servicing and repairing our fleet of forklift trucks, alongside preventative maintenance, fault finding and general mechanical repairs. You’ll also get involved in welding, fabrication and maintenance work across a range of recycling equipment.
You’ll join an experienced Engineering team where you can learn from knowledgeable specialists, develop your technical skills and gain further training and qualifications.
This role works a four-on, four-off shift pattern across days and nights.
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and other mobile plant equipment
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs and fault finding
- Completing basic welding and fabrication work where required
- Responding to equipment issues and helping minimise operational downtime
- Supporting engineering projects, equipment improvements and new installations
- Using our maintenance management system to record completed work and planned maintenance
- Completing the relevant safety checks, risk assessments and maintenance paperwork
- Working closely with Engineering and Operations to keep equipment running safely and reliably
A Few Things About You
You’ll be a practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems and working with different types of equipment. We’re looking for:
- Experience maintaining or repairing mobile plant, forklift trucks or similar mechanical equipment
- Good mechanical knowledge and practical fault-finding skills
- Some experience of welding and fabrication
- An understanding of preventative maintenance
- A strong awareness of safe working practices, including plant isolation and safety systems
- The ability to organise and prioritise your workload
- Confidence using digital maintenance systems or completing electronic records
- A flexible and positive approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
