About The Role
Keeping our recycling operation running smoothly doesn't happen by accident. That's where you come in! As a Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep our plant and machinery performing reliably through a mix of planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs and continuous improvement work. You'll be the kind of person who enjoys getting stuck into problems, finding practical solutions and helping prevent issues before they become bigger headaches.
Working permanent nights, you'll be part of a small engineering team responsible for keeping the site moving. From carrying out routine maintenance to responding to breakdowns and supporting improvement projects, you'll play an important role in making sure the operation runs smoothly and safely every night.
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and equipment
- Diagnosing faults and responding to breakdowns quickly and safely
- Maintaining and repairing industrial machinery to minimise downtime
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the operation
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment performance
- Recording maintenance activity and ensuring work is completed to a high standard
- Supporting future 5S and site improvement initiatives where required

- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

You'll stand out if you have:

A Bit About Us
Every year, thousands of fridges, washing machines and other large domestic appliances reach the end of their life. At our specialist recycling facilities in Telford, we recover valuable materials from these appliances, reduce waste and help support a more sustainable future.
We're big on appliances and electricals, REALLY big. Washing machines, fridge freezers and TVs? They're our bread and butter. Mobiles, Airwraps and Ring doorbells? Yep, those too. If it plugs in, powers up or makes life easier, AO probably has it.
But we're more than that. For over 25 years, trust has been at the heart of everything we do, helping us become the UK's most trusted electrical retailer. Our customers rate us 4.9 on Trustpilot from nearly one million reviews, with more 5 star ratings than any other UK electrical retailer, because they know they can rely on us. And it's exactly the same for our AOers, too.
We truly believe it's more than just a job. We genuinely care about each other and the impact we have on making our customers' lives easier by helping them brilliantly. Everyone here knows how their role makes a difference, whether that's delivering outstanding service, supporting our recycling operation or helping build a more sustainable future.
Our people are our superpower, so when it comes to finding new AOers, we know it's about more than just a CV. It's about what makes you, YOU
