Industry X Advisor – Senior Industry Transformation Advisor
Avanade’s Integrated Go-To-Market (IGTM) function brings the full breadth of propositions, offerings, and capabilities to life for our clients. The scope of the IGTM function includes our Global Lines of Business (LOBs), Global Industry Leads, Portfolio Management, Partner Ecosystem & Alliances, and Integrated Center of Excellence (ICOE), and Managed Services to ensure our strategies, solutions, and delivery drive significant business value.
Industry X, also called Smart Manufacturing and Products, is one out of five strategic LOBs (Lines of Business), representing a significant opportunity to drive incremental growth for Avanade.
The ICOE is a single organization that brings together Avanade’s existing COEs (Center of Excellence) to deliver excellence at scale to Avanade and clients. The three missions of the ICOE:
Driving client impact by providing competitive positioning and solutioning support on key deals; helping regions transition from sales to delivery and jump-start projects; and delivering a consistent SME-based and shared services capability across regions.
Advancing our Solution Areas and Lines of Business by supporting and incubating innovative solutions; developing new capabilities; fostering technical skill development; and demonstrating Avanade’s technical leadership in the market.
Support Practice Development by collaborating to evolve innovative points-of-view, assets, and differentiators; supporting key learning mechanisms and knowledge sharing; and coordinating with Microsoft and Accenture as needed around each of our asset development roadmaps.
The Global Industry X Advisory team is part of the ICOE and directly linked into the Industry X LOB.
As an Industry X Advisor, you’ll be a Subject Matter Expert and responsible for providing industry-specific guidance and insights to our clients and internal teams. You’ll be part of the global Industry X core team and supporting our regional Industry X Squad teams incubate and scale industry-specific solutions and services.
As an applicant you may have experience and expert knowledge in minimum one of the following areas:
Smart Connected Manufacturing, focused on discrete and process manufacturing.
Smart Connected Operations and Assets, focused on construction, energy, and utilities industry.
Additional knowledge in any of the other Industry X focus areas is a plus:
Intelligent Products and Services – spanning industrial and consumer goods, as well as trade assets.
Intelligent Supply Chain
Intelligent Frontline Worker – within factories/operations, and for field services
Foster market reputation and awareness for Avanade Industry X solutions and services.
Establish and sustain strategic relationships with Accenture, Microsoft, and relevant industry partners.
Enable, support and coach local teams in unlocking and capturing Industry X growth opportunities, thereby actively driving Avanade Industry X Pipeline, overall and for Advisory services.
Guide Bid Teams on defining winning strategies and developing tailored solutions and services.
Be the Advisory lead within Industry X projects, defining appropriate technical architectures and/or ensuring value realization.
Create reusable assets and accelerators and contribute to the continuous launch of new Industry X advisory services.
As a Senior Advisor with a primary focus on Industry Transformation, you will have many (10+) years of proven experience within your responsibility and/or in providing strategic and operational guidance to clients in the Manufacturing or Resources industry and considered an expert and advocate by your peers and colleagues. Alongside this, you are passionate about digital, it’s role across business, and the potential it can have when married to your industry knowledge and experience to drive opportunities and Digital Transformation Programs. You are an outcome-oriented consultant with an entrepreneurial spirit who can balance practice leadership with role modelling high impact client work. Building on your industry expertise, you use your interpersonal skills to become the trusted adviser with clients and drive projects and programs to successful conclusions, while working with business development & sales individuals to grow our pipeline. Additionally, you may do public speaking, are engaged in certain forums, or regularly publish thought leadership around Digital Transformation within Industry.
Ideally, your skills and experience and include:
10+ years of relevant experience in the Manufacturing or Resources industry with a deep understanding of its business drivers and requirements driving transformational change, preferably within one or more of the following focus industries:
oDiscrete Manufacturing: Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Aerospace & Defense, High Tech
oProcess Manufacturing: Consumer Goods, Life Sciences
oResources: Chemicals, Natural Resources, Energy, Utilities
A strong understanding of the current trends and challenges in the Manufacturing or Resources industry, such as customer demands, quality standards, production efficiency, and sustainability. From special interest would be relevant expertise for:
oDigital Twin-enabled Energy Efficiency on the shopfloor
oComputer Vision based Quality Inspection
Knowledge of the digital and industry 4.0 technologies that can enhance the shopfloor or operations performance, such as IoT, cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, robotics, additive manufacturing, etc.
Presales and business development including deal shaping and pro-active initial customer contacts.
Conducting assessments and diagnostics of the current state of the client's Manufacturing or Operations, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Developing and presenting recommendations and roadmaps for enhancing the client's Manufacturing or Operations performance, efficiency, and sustainability, from point solutions to digital transformation programs.
Driving adoption and success of the proposed strategy, digital transformation program or point solution, ensuring alignment with the client's business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Providing ongoing support and monitoring of the client's business outcomes, measuring the impact and value of the delivered solutions and programs, across the lifecycle from innovation to industrialization.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, managers, operators, and IT specialists.
Good ability to translate business requirements into plausible responses, spanning technology, process and people, and aptitude to explain complex solutions and concepts in a non-technical language.
Good understanding of the realities of driving digital within the Manufacturing or Resources industry and the challenges faced in gaining benefit from it, including associated investment challenges to balance the ideal outcomes aligned to commercial strategies.
Knowledge and opinions of the benefits and challenges Manufacturing or Resources organizations face on their journey to become future ready from a digital perspective and ideally have delivered some thought leadership in this space.
Proficiency to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders up to C-Level, presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and convincing manner.
