Job Title: Dreadnought AVC Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: Up to £42,550 dependant on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
● Capturing requirements and working closely with stakeholders within Maritime to derive these
● Produce system and equipment level control models using the Simulink and Stateflow (Matlab) toolsets
● Maintain consistent communication across the AVC ‘One Team’ construct
● Develop and harmonise processes in line with Maritime and Air Sector policies
● Capture Learning From Experience (LFE)
● Use agile and scrum methodologies on a daily basis to discharge workload
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
● Proven knowledge and/or work experience in the Mathworks toolsets such as: Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow etc within any environment/background
● Proven experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
● Proven experience of using Microsoft office toolsets such as Outlook, Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint etc.
● HND, BSc, BEng, Degree or equivalent within an Engineering background
● Experience of flexibility within previous roles as you will be required to travel to different sites such as Warton, Samlesbury and/or Barrow-in-Furness
Desirable:
● Experience of using Agile and Scrum techniques
● Experience of working as a Systems Engineer
● Previous experience of working within Fast Jet / Military / Maritime

The Air team:
The team is Air Sector based and forms part of the Tempest Technology Development Team (TTDT), within the FCAS organisation. The team are contracted to undertake the Functional Development work associated to the AVC System on the Dreadnought class submarine, which forms part of the BAE Systems Maritime division.
This role is a very exciting opportunity to be involved in state-of-the-art engineering on the biggest UK defence contract. While the role is working on a Maritime product, the Air sector is developing skills and capability that will be used in developing products going forward.
MBSE is the future of engineering and this role will give the selected candidate a perfect opportunity to gain valuable experience in this field and lead the way in developing the way we do this as a business.
