Salary: Up to £57,000 dependent on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing product safety assurance of Combat System products supporting the Technical Design Authority and software/hardware teams
- Producing safety & environmental management plans
- Producing safety & environmental cases
- Developing safety & environmental arguments for complex systems (including software) sometimes from first principles
- Selecting and executing the most appropriate and recognised hazard identification, analysis and risk classification / reduction techniques
- Developing Hazard Logs and assuring technical documentation
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification or experience in Engineering
- Experience in System Engineering including safety, requirements, and compliance
- Experience of working with multiple project stakeholders at various levels
- An awareness of legislation, standards, and processes used in electronic based product engineering
Desirable:
- Understanding of MoD safety management activities and processes, e.g. DSA01.1, DSA02.DLSR, DSA02-DMR (Defence maritime regulations for health, safety and environmental protection). DEF STAN 00-051, 00-055, 00-056 and the ALARP process
- BS EN IEC 62368-1 (Audio/video, information, and communication technology equipment)
- EC 61508 (Functional Safety of electrical / electronic / programmable electronic safety-related systems)

The Safety Team, is responsible for ensuring the safety of our armed forces personnel whilst they operate in hostile environments, providing both physical and functional safety expertise as well as product environmental expertise to specified projects.
