Through-Life Support and Information Engineer
Would you like to be part of a specialised team that influences the Support and Technical Information engineering of existing and exciting new platforms and services? We currently have vacancies for Through-Life Support and Information Engineer at our site in Warton.
As a Through-Life Support and Information Engineer, you will play a significant part and contribution for the Air business recognising the development of an increasing digital and systems engineering approach. You be involved in collecting, analysing and configuring maintenance data focusing on reliability and maintainability, looking at failures to sustain the safety of the aircraft.
This role offers a variety of opportunities to get involved in the reliability and influence the design across all aspects of Support Engineering from aerospace and adjacent sectors, such as maritime and land. Working on a number of different platforms, this role provides a wide breadth of work with a wide scope of influencing physical changes and the way we maintain aircraft in the future.
Your main responsibilities as a Through-Lift Support and Information Engineer will involve:
- To apply engineering analysis and support principles to influence the design and sustainment of platforms and systems.
- To create and update ‘As Supported’ configured data within Logistics Support databases and Technical Information toolsets.
- Utilise design and in-service data, and customer improvement queries and requests identify maintenance optimisations to provide efficient Maintenance Policies, Schedules and Procedures.
- Research, originate and edit technical information / manuals and supporting data to create, update and publish ‘design approved data’ to maintainers, suppliers and support personnel to national and international specifications.
- Provide advice external to the Through-Life Support function in order to manage in-service engineering support queries and customer technical information improvement requests.
- To support overall assessment, management and control of change across single and multiple platform variants and its subsequent effect on customer support solutions and approved data.
- Analyse safety requirements and hazards that may influence Support solutions and the requirement for the use of warnings and cautions in the technical information.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree qualified in a relevant or related engineering field or equivalent relevant experience.
- A Support Engineering background or working in a maintenance / product service environment.
- An understanding of Maintainability and Reliability to determine where to place the most emphasis in designing platforms and systems and to upgrade them, and to identify design weaknesses from a through-life support perspective.
- Experience of use and authoring of technical documentation and manuals to investigate support.
- An understanding of how Support data is typically recorded as part of the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR).
- Good IT Skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- An understanding of National, International and Industry standards and support policies that are applicable to Aerospace and to Support Engineering activities.
- Knowledge of how Fleet and Maintenance Planning is performed and the records of relevant technical information maintained.
Desirable:
- Experience within an aircraft/ aerospace environment or a military background.
- Previous experience of using data analysis to mitigate changes and influence design.
- Knowledge of carrying out Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and the outputs that this analysis provides.
