Job title: Technician – Metrology (Dimensional Calibration)

What you’ll be doing:
- Calibration and repair of a wide range of precision dimensional test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) against set procedures and technical specifications.
- Keep accurate records of work activities including test results and non-conformances.
- Being able to follow procedures for quality, health & safety and business processes.
- Use of modern software systems including support to development of automation procedures.
Your skills and experiences:
- Comprehensive understanding of dimensional measurement systems and principles.
- Degree / HNC / HND in STEM related discipline or equivalent metrology experience.
- Awareness of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025) and measurement uncertainties.
- Experience in use of coordinate measurement machines (CMMs) and other dimensional TMDE.

The Calibration team:
The calibration team calibrates and maintains around 50,000 pieces of equipment per year in support of Submarine build programmes. This ranges from traditional analogue TMDE through to state of the art digital measurement systems.
