Business Analyst
Location: Glasgow (Scotstoun) with the opportunity to work hybrid/remotely. There may be a requirement for occasional travel between other UK sites to meet customer needs.
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on skills and experience
What will you be doing?
As a Business Analyst, you will contribute to the implementation and configuration of complex Business Information Systems across all platforms within BAE Maritime Naval Ships including Type 26, the Australian Hunter Class and the Canadian Surface Combatant.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on the latest technologies which support the Royal Navy through involvement in National and International programmes.
Your main responsibilities as a Business Analyst will involve:
- To work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to analyse both functional and non-functional requirements.
- To understand how existing processes and solutions in the business work
- To create requirements documentation or user stories, to a standard that allows the development teams to enhance existing/create new applications or system integrations.
- To work directly with developers or other technical teams to ensure the best possible solution is designed and agreed.
- To find pragmatic solutions to requirements that align to existing functionality/architecture where possible.
- To build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Run workshops to investigate user requirements, agree solutions and produce good quality output.
- Ensure that developers have all the information they need in a timely manner so that projects can be delivered to timescales.
- Support the design, test and implementation of new processes and system improvements.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a business analyst.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to investigate, to think logically and reason out problems.
- Understanding of the design of complex solutions across enterprise applications and how those solutions can support design and manufacturing business processes.
- Experience of delivering a requirement and solution specification to the development team.
- Experience of managing and implementing business and process change.
Desirable:
- Experience with SQL/Data manipulation & analysis.
- Experience within complex engineering or manufacturing projects.
- Certification in Business Analysis (BSC/ISEB)

You will have a positive attitude, professional demeanour and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent organisational and time-management skills will be required for this role. In this role it is key you can communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
