Job title: Senior Continued Airworthiness Engineer
Location: Prestwick - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
Salary: £33,000 - £40,500 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering Accident and Defect Investigations in an efficient and timely manner engaging with customers, authorities and BAE Systems personnel (pan-functional) ensuring the CAA Type Certificate obligations continue to be met through the products life
- Reporting to the airworthiness and investigating authorities of progress on our investigations and creation of reports to support internal management reviews
- Co-ordinating the Continued Airworthiness Review meetings and provide an independent safety assessment in support of the investigation
- Providing support to the Product Safety Review Process in order to gain assurance on how effectively Product Safety is being managed across the Regional Aircraft Programme.
- Ensuring the relevant process and procedures remain compliant with Airworthiness regulations but also that they help support efficiency of the management of investigations
- Being the focal for accident and defect investigations with the authorities on behalf of the Chief Airworthiness Engineer
- Ensuring all continued airworthiness records and data are maintained in accordance with our corporate and regulatory requirements
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Degree or equivalent experience in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) related discipline - We will consider candidates with other qualifications combined with relevant aerospace engineering experience
- You will have experience of Aerospace Engineering
- You will have experience and familiarity with one or more of the following:
- Continued Airworthiness process within a Quality Management System
- The principals of a Safety Management System,
- Awareness of the regulatory framework that guides the organisation in determining product safety related issues through to their resolution
- Role of the Civil Airworthiness regulator (UK CAA, EASA, FAA) and Investigating authorities (UK AAIB, NTSB etc.)
- Team working and the ability to self-motivate yourself in ensuring tasks are completed to schedule and performed to the required professional standard
Desirable
- Aircraft Maintenance industry experience as an alternative

The Continued Airworthiness Team:
An engineer in this role is responsible for delivering the Continued Airworthiness activities in a timely, consistent, and professional manner. The role facilitates a broad view of the engineering product and service lifecycles, combined with the opportunity to develop in or become a specialist in a highly sought-after engineering field of expertise.
You will obtain a good understanding of platform products along with the regulatory and certification environment in which these platforms operate. You will gain exposure to a large number of internal and external stakeholders, as well as a chance to work alongside subject matter experts across the Technical Support and Aircraft Design Teams.
