Job title: Head of SHE Occupational Health and Wellbeing
Location: Glasgow (Govan/Scotstoun) - The role will also require travel to other sites Nationally as and when required
Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on skills and experience (package to include car allowance)
What you’ll be doing:
- Working as part of the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Leadership Team you will, through the provision of technical/expert Occupational Health (OH) support and advice, ensure that OH expectations and objectives are understood and delivered enabling effective management of significant SHE risks and regulatory requirements
- Developing and maintaining an OH, Hygiene & Wellbeing Strategy for Naval Ships, leading its effective deployment and governance across all sites
- Effectively monitor, review, and analyse business OH performance, defining, developing, and implementing control strategies that drive continuous improvement and protect all personnel on Naval Ships sites from occupational health risks
- Managing the OH, wellbeing and physiotherapy contract services across Naval Ships ensuring the highest standards of service are delivered
- Working with the UK Rest of World (ROW) Team, ensuring that Naval Ships are effectively represented, in the development of cross Business Unit OH & wellbeing initiatives and ways of working
Your skills and experiences:
- Degree Level Education – Occupational Health or Health & Safety Management related
- Proven and demonstrable ability to operate at a senior level
- Proven experience of deploying health and wellbeing strategies/programmes into the workplace
- Previous experience within an engineering/construction/manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Experience of leading health & wellbeing programme at a regional or national level (desirable)

The SHE team:
The SHE teams currently consists of 29 professionals covering all aspects of SHE. As part of our in-house team, you will play a key role in establishing and managing the Occupational Health and Wellbeing strategy across our Naval Ships business. The role also provides the opportunity to get involved in our D&I agenda and other strategic groups and objectives, working with external parties and Trade Unions. This is an exciting and high-profile role in which you will work both locally and group wide implementing, managing and continuously improving our services and offerings ensuring that all personnel within Naval ships are protected and supported.
