SENIOR COMMERCIAL MANAGER
Location: Portsmouth, Cowes or Great Baddowwith the potential for hybrid working as business needs allow
Salary: Up to £83,300 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Work the sector and commercial leadership to provide fit for purpose commercial models for radar campaigns/programmes.
- Provision of commercial support and contract administration both directly and through the Radar Commercial team to a wide range of projects, programmes and campaigns.
- Maintain an excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Use your experience and knowledge to provide support to the radar commercial team to ensure they provide the required service
- Active participation in business winning Capture Teams, including leading the development of commercial proposal for potential business and the commercial review of the full suite of proposal documents
- Preparing and leading the preparation and presentation of LCM reviews and ‘Request for Bid Approval’, ensuring the necessary approvals are obtained within governance of the Operational Framework.
- Lead negotiation of proposals with our customers and ensuring that this results in acceptable business agreements and contracts that align with the P&TS objectives
- Work closely with Supply Chain team to ensure that all key terms and conditions are flowed down to the sub-contractors and that subcontractor quotes are robustly challenged
- Deputise for the Head of Commercial which will include taking day to day responsibility of some aspects of managing the wider P&TS Commercial team
Your skills and experiences:
- Ideally previous experience working in a commercial function within the Defence sector
- Ability to operate in a strategic and tactical capacity as well as operational
- In depth professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques and practices with an understanding of how Commercial roles fit in to an organisation as a whole
- Previous experience managing a team with the ability to mentor and develop colleagues

The Radar Commercial team:
Working with the Head of Commercial P&TS and the Head of Radar to support this vibrant and growing Commercial Team you will provide commercial support to key campaigns/projects within the business.
With a diverse portfolio of products and service offerings and is undergoing significant transformation. As part of this the Radar team is seeking to grow its customer base through a range of Radar products and services.
