Job title: Geo-Environmental Engineer
Location: Bishopton
Salary: £28,000 circa
What you’ll be doing:
- Site supervision of geo-environmental and geotechnical ground investigations in accordance with BS10175.
- Logging of soil samples to BS5930 and generation of exploratory point logs.
- Supervision of demolition, remediation, earthworks, and verification activities.
- Management of environmental monitoring packages (groundwater, surface water gas, noise, dust), including PPC.
- Field works could include but not limited to:
- Soil, gas, groundwater, and dust monitoring using scientific equipment
- Soil and water sampling by various field methods
- Sample integrity and courier management
- Contractor liaison
- 4x4 driving on site
- Scheduling of site investigation and remediation verification soil and water samples for chemical analysis.
- Collation, presentation, and interpretation reporting of site investigation and remediation verification data
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Driving Licence as the role requires extensive travel within the site.
- Experience of site work including soil/water sampling collection/logging, data handling, manipulation and screening using MS Excel and Word
- Computer literate including a good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, ArcGIS, PowerPoint, Surfer, Adobe and Autocad.
Desirable
- Conversant with the Scottish contaminated land industry
- Working knowledge of planning, waste regulatory regimes and environmental management
