Job Title: Senior Energy Engineer

Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake technical reviews, verifications and validate engineering designs

  • Develop new products to increase the portfolio of works the E&SS can provide to others
  • Provide technical Support to the engineering manager
  • Providing support and assurance to the Design Authority as to the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation

  • Undertake functional design and/or provide qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety
  • Liaise both internal and external stakeholders as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed
  • Providing support with the identification and management of continuous improvement initiatives in both business processes and project activities
  • Deliver engineering governance activities including Design Reviews and audits
  • Supporting resolution of cross-discipline technical issues
  • Work with a higher degree of technical autonomy, demonstrating a commitment to professional design engineering principles and values
  • Undertaking tasks for the Engineering Manager
  • Support and develop engineers and apprentices to better enhance the team’s skill set

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • A Degree level qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline and working towards IEng/CEng level
  • Have a high understanding knowledge in Energy systems and products. Requires understanding of either Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline for projects and programs
  • High understanding of Engineering integration: across projects, products, and strategy

Desirable:

  • Interest in the energy sector

Our Energy Engineering team:

As a Senior Energy Engineer, you will take a more leading role in development of effective energy and low carbon solutions (generate, recycle, storage, monitor & control) in the form of feasibility studies and business cases through to detailed design and installation. For example, PV, CHP, low carbon heat networks, heating systems, battery storage, hydrogen, carbon capture and energy management systems. Develop cross-discipline oversight of design development, for both products and projects.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team that are working on pushing the business forward within the energy sector. You will be at the forefront of the movement. This role will also allow for development opportunities.
