Job title: Skilled Assembly Fitter
Location: Warton/Samlesbury – this role can include shift pattern
Salary: £37,738
Would you like to be conducting mechanical tasks across a wide range of products including Typhoon, Hawk, F-35 and Tempest covering the full production lifecycle from detail manufacturing, minor and major Assemblies, and Final Assembly to acceptance and delivery to customers? We currently have several vacancies for Mechanical Fitter/Assembler at our sites in Samlesbury and Warton.
As a Mechanical Fitter/Assembler, you will have a deep understanding of mechanical work and should be able to carry out the various techniques used in the aircraft and support industry
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensuring safe systems of work are carried out in compliance with Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Read/Interpret Engineering Drawings.
- Installing and maintaining various types of Mechanical Equipment
- Fault diagnosis and defect rectification.
- Carrying out detailed inspections and be fully conversant in the use of all measuring equipment
- Tasks will involve repetitive physical activities across several shifts
- Compliance with foreign object debris (FOD) and tool control
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Advanced Engineering Craft Apprenticeship with associated NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Understanding of Tool Control, Tool calibration and Foreign Object Debris (F.O.D.) procedures. Understanding of engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Experience in the use of aircraft tooling and measuring equipment in the production of close tolerance components and the necessary regulated standards.
- Previous Fitting experience
Desirable:
- Experience working with military aircraft / in the aerospace industry

These roles will be available to start through-out 2023 and may involve working on a shift rota which could include days, nights and weekends and flexibility is crucial for success in this role.
