What you’ll be doing:
- Attend operational incidents, take command and or assume a functional role within the ICS structure
- To maintain operational competence for the role through full participation in operational training, the operational familiarisation process, exercises and other ICS development opportunity
- To carry out all duties commensurate with your role in a competent and effective manner to the highest standards of care and quality
- To be available to attend for duty in line with Service requirements and to respond immediately and safely to emergency incidents
- To maintain Service Delivery there will be occasions when you shall be required to undertake the duties of a higher role; and, on a voluntary basis, be recalled to duty to assist with Service Delivery
- To promote, uphold and implement all BAEFRS policies, plans and procedures including, for example, Attendance Management and those relating to legal requirements such as Equality, Health & Safety, Data Protection, etc.
- To acquire and maintain all skills as determined by BAEFRS requirements by undertaking any training deemed appropriate and deliver training to other BAEFRS personnel or external agencies when required. The level of competence for the skills base will be measured in accordance with the relevant National Occupational Standards and Role Maps.
- To maintain a level of fitness for work to carry out all duties of your role in line with the Service’s Occupational Health Policy

Our Crew Commanders play a vital supervisory management role in support of this agenda within the Operational Teams.
