Job Title: Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager

What you’ll be doing:

• Ensuring that all aspects of the projects are fully defined to ensure customer requirements are achieved in accordance with all business and commercial criteria
• Develop and maintain coherent, fully integrated and workable project plans and budgets. Develop resource plans and liaise with all stakeholder functions
• Lead, control and monitor projects so that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality requirements, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and where necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan
• Interpret, analyse data and present resolutions across the business working closely with the Project to work through issue to resolve
• Develop, maintain and manage key relationships with sub-contractors, customers and other stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are achieved and that issues are effectively addressed, and to facilitate effective and profitable business development
• Either lead or mentor members of the team that consist of engineering, commercial, project management etc, to ensure that both the customers and business requirements are met, whilst ensuring that all management/ commercial aspects are well documented
• Work to and support the Project Risk and Opportunity Management processes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Experience of being in a Project Management position
• Experience of working within multi-disciplined teams
• Excellent IT Skills such as Excel, MS Office, and the ability to analyse data and produce quality reports

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a complex engineer or regulated environment

The Project Management team:

Our programmes are some of the most complex globally so you will play a critical role within a programme of work that has significant strategic importance to the UK.

The Project management teams support specific areas of the Submarine build. The Submarine build is broken down into specific areas such as mid, forward, and aft. In turn those areas supported by various functions such as design, engineering and operations, and work on specifics such as propulsion, integrated systems, strategic weapons to name a few. Project Management teams will lead, control and monitor projects to ensure that delivery is to schedule and budget.

Career opportunities are extensive and with around 1100 employees in Project management there are a range of options to build extensive knowledge of PM Delivery, Project Controls, Planning and Risk and Opportunity Management.

We support all our Project professionals with qualifications through to Chartered Status with the APM.
