Job title: Commercial Manager

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing commercial activities within the business and throughout the lifecycle, including preparing and submitting bids, obtaining bid approvals, contract negotiation and acceptance of contracts
  • Working closely with Estimating, Procurement, Programme Management and Business Development functions
  • Liaising across functions within CTAI, to support future growth aligned with the CTAI strategic plan and aspirations
  • In conjunction with the CTAI Programme Management team, undertaking all areas of contract management
  • Facilitating the capture, planning and execution of bids in line with CTAI processes and procedures.
  • Supporting Export Control compliance and general business compliance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • A demonstrable and solid Commercial background
  • Experience in the negotiation of high value development and production contracts
  • Ability to disseminate and communicate financial data
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously

Desirable (or willing to work towards):

  • Understanding of the defence industry and the commercial environment in which the business operates with knowledge of or experience with UK DEFCONS is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of French (written and spoken) is desirable

The Commercial team:

Land UK currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join the CTAI joint venture Business for a 3-year international assignment in France. The CTA is currently delivering the innovative Cased Telescope CT40 medium calibre cannon in support of the UK and French Armed Forces.

You will be an integral part of the Commercial team and will be responsible for commercial activities within the business and throughout the lifecycle, including bid approval, proposal submission, contract negotiation and acceptance of contracts for the UK MOD and potentially other International customers.

The role provides great variety and can be broadened to support individual development aspirations. The role affords work experience in a dynamic cross-cultural environment, working with both internal and external stakeholders and secure excellent experience working in a commercial business.
