Job title: Air - Production Supervisor
Location: Samlesbury/ Warton – This will be an on-site based role that may require you to work shifts across days, nights and weekends.
Salary: £42,760 +
What you’ll be doing:
- Motivate and direct a team to create a high-performance culture, being a catalyst for improvement suggestions and a driver of cost saving measures and efficiency improvements
- Control all resource and activities within your area of responsibility to discharge the agreed production schedule
- Liaising with support areas (i.e., Planning/Engineering/Logistics) to progress issues and ensure the delivery of products within a set cost budget at the required quality specification
- Understanding the key elements of waste reduction against methods, parts, and processes and how to apply strategies within their area of responsibility
- Compliance with the manufacturing system and associated standards (For example, applying workplace organisation and work balance)
- Reporting and acting upon any production losses through the appropriate channels to successfully identify root cause, contain issues and progress appropriate corrective actions
- Where applicable, ensure all visual management and control within your respective area of ownership are kept up to date and topical in line with the Manufacturing System Standards
Your skills and experiences:
ESSENTIAL:
- An understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to demonstrate the importance of a “Safety First” culture
- Excellent communication and team building skills, with the ability to manage conflict and deliver solutions that aim to build a collaborative approach
- Perform with integrity and be able to inspire others to achieve key departmental milestones
DESIRABLE:
- Previous working experience within Manufacturing Operations or similar environment.
- Hold a Level 3 or above (ONC/NVQ/BTEC National Certificate) in Engineering or Operations Management (or equivalent experience)

The Production Supervisors team:
As a part of Production Supervisors Team, you will be working within an organisation which is part of the World’s Largest Defence Programme in its participation in the F-35, Typhoon, Hawk and Tempest. We currently have several opportunities for Manufacturing Operations Production Supervisors at our Warton Unit sites (across Warton / Samlesbury). You will be working alongside other teams to deliver products that will be in service for 40+ years and be continually upgraded to maintain Customers Air Defence capabilities.
