What you’ll be doing:
- Completing daily booking checks and validation to ensure team’s attendance is correctly captured to ensure pay is correct and the company invoices hours for payment
- Engaging, listen and effectively communicate to teams of responsibility to optimise delivery performance
- Managing teams of responsibility will range in size due to the scale and complexity of the work but will be between 1 to 12 or 1 to 16 with surge
- Day to day responsibility of teams’ performance management and development to include attendance, sickness, overtime approvals, training (where appropriate) and PDP’s (Personal Development Plans)
- Supporting a continuously improving culture within teams of responsibility that will provide year on year benefit
- Be responsible for resource allocation ensuring team are SQEP to conduct tasks
- Ensuring compliance to production plans, Service Order scheduling and allocation of orders via selected toolsets
- Be responsible and accountable for daily bookings and team’s utilisation to ensure financial performance meets budgeted targets
- Reviewing tasks to ensure they have been completed to required standards which will result in robust right first-time work acceptance performance
- Ensure risk and method statements are in place and given so work is completed to the high SHE standards
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Experience in Pipe manufacturing and testing
- Experience of leading a team
Desirable:
- Ideally from a marine / ship build or repair background
- Be able to run multi-layered mini projects whilst effectively deploying resources, demonstrating numerical, analytical and time management skills

The Pipefitting team:
As a Team Leader – Pipefitter, you will be able to absorb and assess multiple sources of information to establish solutions to production problems to ensure agreed deliverables are achieved.
This role will provide you with an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will also have the opportunity as the successful candidate to be coached on a regular basis and to have a clear development plan to develop you further and improve your skills within the role which will allow for wider opportunities within BAE Systems.
