Job title: Procurement Leader- Supplier Development

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £43,373 + Depending on Experience (Package includes a company car)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitoring supplier improvement progresses using Continuous Improvement Plans and supplier performance measures in line with improvement plans, objectives and capture benefits
  • Developing and delivering training to ensure Suppliers and internal functions are capable and confident to undertake ongoing Improvement activity (Lean, Practical Problem Solving, Project Management)
  • Conducting analysis and providing/delivering executive summaries, reports and presentations when required using Supplier Development trackers, templates and other formats as necessary

Your skills and experiences:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an understanding of Lean principles and techniques such as DMAIC and process mapping
  • Internal and external auditing skills; quality planning; product and process failure investigations; non-conformance and corrective action management
  • Ability to assess supplier capability from a manufacturing, inspection and operational standpoint
  • SC21 Practitioner experience is desirable
  • Six Sigma qualified would be desirable

The Procurement team:

This team is responsible for the development of strategic, critical and leverage suppliers across Maritime Submarines, identifying and delivering improvement initiatives to mitigate and maximising the probability of programme success, continuity and longevity of supply.
