What you’ll be doing:
- Working with stakeholders, develop and implement strategy/marketing plans
- Acting upon market analysis and intelligence data to influence and plan P&T investment
- Leading, understanding and influencing/shaping of the customer requirement, defining opportunity timeline and acting as a customer advocate during solution development
- Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with customers, key influencers, governments, local consultants (where used) and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring the business acts upon customer opportunities, thinking, knowledge, concerns etc
- Working closely with Capture/ Project teams to share and focus key messages, supporting customer engagement where appropriate to specific captures or projects & understanding current customer issues/concerns
Your skills and experiences:
- Significant Business Winning experience, business winning behaviours, processes, procedures and industry best practice
- Considerable experience in identifying, creating and developing new opportunities and maturing them to a pursue/stop decision
- Substantial experience of engaging senior stakeholders, particularly customers, with the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships
- Practical experience with government defence acquisition agencies, both UK and international would be beneficial

The Business Development Team:
The role will be part of the Business Development function reporting to the Head of Business Development for Combat Systems. The position will be based in the South East of England (Portsmouth), with some localised travel across Naval Ships’ and customer sites in the South of England will be required.
