Job Title: Head of Flight Operations
Location: Warton
Salary: Up to £120,000 per annum (dependent on skillset and experience) + bonus and car allowance
What you’ll be doing:
- Fly the aircraft safely in accordance with all aspects of the Company Operations Manual
- Oversight and compliance with sub-parts AOC, FC, CC, MPA and SPA as applicable to the operation
- Responsible for maintaining the compliant content of the company’s Operations Manuals
- Maintain compliance with relevant United Kingdom, European and International air operations legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures
- Regularly assess hazards and monitor and implement procedures and practices to mitigate risk in all of the company’s flight operations
- Line Manager and budgetary responsibility for the team of pilots, cabin crew and operations staff
- When operating as aircrew, complete all administrative duties in relation to each flight
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Current and sound knowledge of CAA Air Ops Regulations and CAA publications with regards to regulatory compliance and the implementation and monitoring of safe working practices
- CAA Airline Transport Pilots Licence and Class 1 Medical Certificate with a minimum of 3000 hours PIC on multicrew jet or turboprop types
- Excellent communication skills to interact with the flight crew, passengers and Air Traffic Control along with training and coaching skills required to develop colleagues in flying, technical and management roles
- Current or former TRI/TRE Qualifications on a CAT operated or other type in an airline environment
Desirable:
- Detailed knowledge of relevant aircraft type Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Procedures, aircraft systems and limitations
- Preferably current or prior experience as a TRE/TRI in an airline environment
- Good knowledge of the Business, its structure and relevant systems and procedures, to inform decision making and problem solving as well as a good knowledge of MS Office, Leon, Rocket route and/or other similar systems

Our Flight Operations Team:
You will lead a team of 18, comprising of pilots, cabin crew and operations staff. You will be responsible for approving flight operations within compliance and safety standards. You will be involved in both passenger and freight operations within Europe and the Middle East, scheduled and ad-hoc. This is an excellent opportunity to work on behalf of Europe’s leading defence contractor in support of core business activities.
Your role will generally involve very little weekend or night flying and will often not work on bank holidays. It also offers a loss of licence cover.
