Job title: Senior Detail Designer

Salary: £46,420.00 dependant on skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver design solutions in line with the design intent, ensuring consideration of through life stakeholders (eg operations, commissioning, support, RN)
- Coach and assure team members on design best practice and advise on complex design matters
- Checker of all engineering outputs (Including BOM) from within the team and value
- stream in line with the detail design Quality Management Process/System
- Advise Principal Detail Designer on local activity within the team such as people performance, technical performance, and schedule performance.
- Perform Key Technical Roles within the Design Organisation when required such as DOQA & Change Impact Assessor.
- Engage regularly with key Detail Design stakeholders in engineering and wider supporting functions
Your skills and experiences:
- Experience in engineering or a defence or related industry (Ideally Shipbuilding, O&G or Defence background)
- Understanding of LCM
- Understanding or Quality management principles
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Engineering team:
As a senior Detail Designer, you will undertake a defined range of detail design activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and/or to organise and co-ordinate aspects of detail design activity ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements. You will line manage detail designers, manage budgets, lead, and motivate teams and make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
