What you’ll be doing:
- Establishing and agreeing of project assurance programme, specifically associated with CEH (complex electronic hardware)/PEDs (programmable electronic devices) in the early lifecycle phases and improve the independent assurance engineering capability within Air (specifically CEH/PEDs) to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of engineers in a collaborative digital engineering environment
- Performing critical reviews of the design information at the agreed lifecycle points providing constructive comments to ensure the design is compliant with applicable regulations and standards
- Identifying and ensuring progress to resolution any concerns raised in the critical review
- Producing independent professional judgement statements at the appropriate certification points to support the Chief Airworthiness Engineer approvals
Your skills and experiences:
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent engineering experience
- Working knowledge of RTCA DO-254 / EUROCAE ED-80 and/or RTCA DO-178 / EUROCAE ED-82 Design Assurance Guidance is essential
- Familiarity with safety standards such as Mil Std 882, ARP4761A
- Ability to critically review design information and provide comments on them in a clear and constructive technical language

The team operates across all Air products (goods and services) providing product safety, product environmental sustainability and product security engineering resource to all programmes across the business. In addition, the team delivers the independent assurance activities associated with airworthiness, product safety, product environmental sustainability and product security in a collaborative and supportive environment.
