Job overview:
The role is in the UK based Salam Contract team and works across the customer base, internal and external suppliers. The role is responsible for the technical management of deliveries for all New Business and Industrialisation activities across the weapon system and support solution.
The role acts as a focal point between the development teams and the end customer, with responsibility for the bid phase of all Aircraft and Support capability enhancements, also the bid and delivery phase of the Industrialisation programme activities. The role is required to tailor and apply engineering processes, tools and approaches in order to develop innovative and creative solutions to contracts and specifications, including resolution of conflicts between customer requirements and product/service performance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the Salam New Business technical integration team in the management and delivery of the new business contracts through the early lifecycle management stages through to contract award (At which point responsibilities will be handed to the Delivery PEM).
- Lead the Salam Industrialisation technical integration team in the management, delivery and ownership of the Industrialisation responsibilities through the new business / bid phases of the lifecycle and into delivery
- Support and challenge the Lines of Business in the delivery of the product integrity activities in a professional and timely manner, challenging inefficiencies and inconsistencies in the operation
- Support the Engineering Integration Discipline to develop and expand their expertise and influence through supporting internal community of practices and external engagements as appropriate
- Problem solving of Technical and Programmatical issues identified in a timely and professional manner, engaging with Engineering teams and subject matter experts as appropriate. These will generally involve collaborating across a virtual team influencing individuals to deliver
- Ensure personal development and opportunities are maximized and collaborate with the wider Engineering teams to promote the Engineering Integration identity.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Experience of aerospace Prime Contracting, and supporting Systems activities through the complete lifecycle including disposal
- Degree level (or equivalent) in Science or Engineering
- Strong fast jet engineering background, in either design or maintenance
- Experience in Engineering integration role within any lifecycle/product area
Desirable
- Previous experience of Requirements Engineering, Configuration and Data Management

The Salam Engineering – BAES-SA UK team:
The UK prime contracting office provides engineering support to the entirety of the KSA Typhoon products and services. The team directly interfaces with the mirror organisation within KSA with a “one team” approach.
