Job title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
- The role is crucial in achieving business requirements for the manufacture of munitions components to the required quality, cost and delivery requirements. In addition to this you will help deliver the Washington Manufacturing target of >96%.
- Suitably lead and support the manufacturing and process engineering team in the Lethal Mechanisms and Treatments area and ensure conformance to the manufacturing targets.
- The Senior ME will be responsible for ensuring liaison between the Manufacturing Engineers and other functions, including Safety, Quality, Procurement and Engineering to successfully tackle production issues, following the relevant processes and procedures, identifying suitable causes, remedial actions and corrective actions.
- Deliver processes capable of achieving an Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) of 85%
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree in an engineering / operational discipline, or experience in manufacturing/engineering
- Experience in a line management / leadership role and to have responsibility for the leadership and output of others. Also having the ability to coach and develop others.
- Safety conscious attitude with knowledge and skills to fully integrate safety into the working environment
Desirable:
- Time served experience in a paint finishing / powder coating and application field
- Appropriate managing safety qualification, e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH or willingness to undertake
- Continually improving the manufacturing process and implementing lean manufacturing methods. Green belt (or above) Six Sigma
- Good IT skills and ability to learn complex new technologies

The Manufacturing Engineering team:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead and manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers in the Treatments and Lethal Mechs manufacturing area to safely, reliably and efficiently meet the daily business expectations in terms of SHE, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People for the delivery of ammunition components.
