Job title: Metrology Engineer (Radiation)

What you’ll be doing:

    Maintain, calibrate, and repair radiation detention and monitoring equipment

      Support radiation-based manufacturing and trials across all submarine build programmes

        Engage with internal & external customers to define / refine measurement requirements

          Research available options and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions

            Support in-build and platform exit activities across all platforms

            Your skills and experiences:

            Essential

              HNC / equivalent or above in a STEM subject or previous physics / engineering experience

                Experience of handling measurement instrumentation

                  Good understanding of basic radiation principals

                    Broad understanding of measurement principals

                      Experience in radiation protection or health physics advantageous, but not necessary

                      The Instrumentation Development Services team:

                      The Instrumentation Development Services (IDS) team is a collaborative working environment, pulling together multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Software and Radiation Metrology), to develop, deploy and support complex Measurement/Monitoring Systems from cradle to grave.
